Yesterday, (January 18, 2008), WNIJ broadcast a one-hour special on the pre-presidential Barack Obama. It was not a critical look at his past, but rather a salute to an Illinois politician who's risen to the highest office in the country. One of my contributions to the special was an interview with a Northern Star journalist, James Tschirhart, who covered a city hall meeting Obama held after being elected into the U.S. Senate. It was a defining moment for the young journalist, and you can hear the full eight-minute interview by clicking the title of the blog. Or click here, whichever you like.
